Over the weekend, Northern United Sports Club took three teams to play in the prestigious Weir Rose Bowl Tournament 2020 and what a fantastic weekend it was!
Our mixed team finished 3rd overall which is an outstanding achievement as they faced some exceptionally tough competition. The team consisted of a few new and younger players in the squad, and we were very impressed with the team who got stronger and stronger as the tournament went on. Your skill, determination and outstanding sportsmanship was specifically mentioned to us so well done to all players involved, coaches and manager.
We also had two girls teams that represented NUSC and both teams were fantastic! They also had some tough competition throughout the tournament and they even had to play each other twice! Both teams battled it out all weekend and it was our NUSC - Orange team that walked away as CHAMPIONS and lifted the trophy!!!! We are so unbelievably proud of this group of girls who have gone from strength to strength all season. You all played for each other out there and for one of our teams to walk away as champions is the cherry on top of what has been a great season for you all. Well done to all players involved, and a special mention to our coaches and managers too.
